The Hythamite Crossbow was an engineering answer to the people of Hytham when they saw Wookie refugees easily handle the large predators of their world. While not as strong as a bowcaster, it took what strengths it could from the design, namely the drawing power of the string and the automatic reloading of the quarrels. It is a much more fragile weapon, and limited by its firing range and ammunition capacity, but it remains a powerful weapon for those untrained in blasters.
