01/11 Frustrations of Daily Writing and Planning Ahead

It’s a poignant irony that I have multiple draft posts waiting for me to go over and yet, I keep letting them sit there. It’s a personal conflict between wanting to write and wanting to be a perfectionist.

Or it might be imposter syndrome just getting the better of me. I’ll have to ask my psychology buddy about that.

You will have noticed, however, that I did not post much in the past week. I apologize for that, especially to my kids for their lack of “daily weather” photos. The Heavy Season threw me completely off my routine and even with medication to help me pay attention, it shows that I’ve been slacking.

But hopefully, at the start of next week I will have my routine back on schedule for writing and posting. I’m also giving serious thought to scheduling a few days off from career work and house-spouse work so I can have a mini writing retreat; in reality, I’d just stay at my desk but I’d also turn off my usual distractions. Looking at you, Stellaris.

At least my game sessions are starting back up. I’ve missed those during the past month, and it showed during the first Main Arc session.

I front-loaded the session so much that the players didn’t actually get to do much, which is both a great feeling and personally disappointing. But they needed to know so much!

Tonight is my first Solo-Arc session for the year, and I’m looking forward to having that sit-down with our most recent new player Jeremy.

Back to slinging mail. Stay safe out there, readers!
